Medicare Part A will help pay towards your first 100 days in a Skilled Nursing Facility(SNF) ONLY IF...

  • You require SKILLED CARE....Medicare does NOT pay for Custodial or Intermediate care.
  • You are in the hospital for at least three days before admission into a SNF
  • The SNF is approved by Medicare (only 1 out of 5 are Medicare approved)
  • You enter the SNF for the same reason that you were hospitalized
  • Your condition is 'acute'.  Once it is termed 'chronic', Medicare stops paying!

If all of the above requirements are met... then Medicare will pay the following:
